So you're wondering how to get more referrals for your Agloco account. You probably know that links pointing to your blog or website that promotes Agloco is good, but it seems that not many of you really know a anything about Search Engine Optimization.

I have been wondering for a while now. Is Agloco really a good business model. I mean first of all it is basically a Paid to Surf program. And there are tons of such programs. And non of them is earning anyone anything. Not even the owners. And for now, this holds true for Agloco too. It's over half a year and it hasn't made me anything. I don't think Agloco is a scam, but I'm not sure if it does what it promises.

I do really believe in this idea, but I don't have that much faith in the team that's behind Agloco. I mean how hard is it to get advertisers? I mean even if they took about 100 ads with super low cost per client a month. Even then they would make money, how much do you think they are earning with one ad a month? Hardly anything.

And this maximum hours a month system. Come on! People hold their Viewbar opened for five hours at the beginning of the month and that's it. Who will those ads be displayed for after that?
It's not like Agloco is paying a dollar for every surfed hour. It is all through percentage. Of course there has to be a limit. But 5 hours? I surf this much in one day. If there should be a limit then it should be per day. For example 3 hours per day. So that the Viewbar would be opened for the whole month not just at the beginning of it.

And the programmers? Jesus. My friend who is 16 said he could make a better Viewbar in a week. Not in several months. And he wasn't joking.

What do you think about those issues? Is the team competent enough? Is their strategy good? Will Agloco make any money, ever?

Agloco Viewbar ready for download

No really. This time it's true. The Viewbar is ready for download. It's up for download for everybody, not only the first members. Just log in into your account and under the stats you will see a link. The file is 2.2 megabytes in size and installs pretty quickly.

But I don't see any ads on it though. Maybe no ads are targeted for my country. Who knows. As you can see the white space on the left where the ads should be is empty. I cut it out so it would fit in this blog post.

Hopefully it'll work soon.

Will Agloco start some day?

I'm already starting to doubt in Agloco teams ability to deal with the scale of this.
Either the programming team is weak(although not as weak as Microsoft's). Or they can't deal with the scale of Agloco. It is A Global Community, isn't it.
I think they also might have problems with customer support or promotion.
I mean. They need to deal with tens if not hundreds of advertising agencies. It's not as easy as you think. But Agloco's management should have been able to predict this!

Actually maybe they should have started small. With no Multi Level Marketing. With no promises to pay money. Just programming a toolbar, updating it and providing a service with the toolbar. Like for example spam blocking. Or social bookmarking. Those things aren't too hard to program.
Yes, money is a motivator, but when you pay money for nothing and don't even have nothing to show to your members... Just promises. Until now empty promises(Will this change?). Why do you expect anything more than skepticism?

Yes, the idea is great. Pay money to the people who buy things etc. But why not just provide massive discounts? That is one thing what Agloco is promised to do. This is a service on its own. It could be even more popular than Youtube.

I see 3 problems with Agloco's business strategy.

1)Aiming for big scale, but not handling it.

I mean if they create a Global Community, they have to be able to satisfy the communities needs. And what the community needs? A toolbar. Why not start with just a pop-up blocker toolbar so people would have some use from it. And have a small untargeted ads displayed on it. You will already earn something.

2)Everything at once.

If you have a great plan and this plan includes many people then you have to start small. Like I said you have to have something to show to the users. Not just promises. Okay, maybe the team wants to start everything with a big bang. But it's already too late. Promises, promises, promises. For several months now. Where is the toolbar? Where is the money? I don't believe that it is so hard to display some ads in a pop-up blocker type of toolbar. Of course it's not targeted advertising, but something is better than nothing.

3)Quantity is bad for quality

Yes, a swiss knife is cooler than ordinary knife, scissors and a magnifying glass, but is it better? Definitely no. They are smaller and do a weaker job.
It is harder to invent twenty different things at a time and make them perfect. Why not a thing at a time and then maybe combine them if it makes sense. Or maybe it is better to separate some of them, but some should go together?

If any of Agloco team members is reading this right now. Think about those things. Nothing is perfect and if you will delay the release of it until it is... well... Maybe you wont release it ever?

Finally, thank god(or AGLOCO programmers) The Viewbar is out! Well... not exactly out. Like promised it is out for the first members, then to the next ones, then the next ones and so on. As I understood users with ID's BBBB to BBBF will be the first ones to get it.
Instructions on downloading the Viewbar will be sent to members via e-mail.
It seems that members will be reviewed in some kind of way. Pretty much work considering that the number of members from BBBB to BBBF is about 50,000. But, maybe I didn't understand it correctly. If you do then please comment and let me know.

Internet Privacy - How safe is Agloco? Many people don't trust Agloco because they think it's just another scam. Another spyware or something like that.

I'm not just going to say that they're wrong. I'll back it with facts.

I'm not going to use the classical "look up AllAdvantage in Wikipedia", although you could do that. I have something better for you.

Let's just check companys Chief Privacy Officer. Ray Everett- Church. Here is what is written at the website of Agloco:

The co-founder of YouTube, Chad Hurley, announced on Saturday that YouTube is going start sharing ad revenue with its users.

Doesn't this sound a little familiar? Let me think... Where have I heard of a similar concept? Hmm... Think... Think...

Oh Yeah... HERE!

It seems that AGLOCO's predictions are correct. AGLOCO promised to change the internet forever, the Viewbar hasn't been released yet and already we can see the results:

GOOGLE IS SCARED!

So what now? Register, wait(or better recruit new members) and see.

But that's not all: YouTube will share its revenue only with users who post videos, but only users whose videos gain popularity will earn something. So don't rush registering in YouTube.

Oh... And I predict a rise in copywriting problems. Probably most of the users that'll ask for a payment will be banned because of illegal usage of copywrited materials.

Little digging and I found this AllAdvantage Promo Video which was made in the year 2000.
I quite like it:) AGloCo should also have one of these. Too bad I'm not too good at videoediting.

The video explains that privacy is one of the most important aspects for them.
You can see what the AllAdvantage Viewbar looked like. AGloCo Viewbar is similar to it, only as we can see from this screenshot a lot smaller.

The Google Story and an Interview

Hey... It has been some time since my last post. I did a trip to Finland... my plane back was late because of the bad weather... and when I finally got on the plane... there were few moments where I thought: "This is it! I'm too young to die... I'm not rich yet... I won't see Agloco in action..."

But luckily I'm alive.

In the airport I bought a book called "The Google Story". I've just started reading... but so far it's been very interesting.
Google founders are Stanford graduates... just like founders of AltaVista(which had a chance of buying Google in it's early years), Hewlett-Packard, Sun Microsystems(Sun stands for Stanford University Network) and many others.

Maybe you already know that the founders of Agloco are also Stanford graduates(just like 8 other members of the development team). For me this gives even more trust in them.
Do you think you would be rich by now if you had invested even a small amount of money into the idea of the two "Google Guys" seven years ago?

Why You Earn... Or Don't

Why did I put this Quote here? Well. Think of it.

You can have a map(Agloco) but how are You going to earn... If you can't get pins because the map falls down?

What I mean is...

You have to get atleast 5 people to sign up under you. And those 5 people can't be regular folks... They have to be able, to hold up the map.

Those are the ones who will generate all the other pins. Smaller, weaker, but many of them.
They are the base for Your earnings. You have to take time to get them. But once You have them, You are guaranteed to have success.

There are certain characteristics to them:
1)They have many friends and make friends easily.
2)They are passionate about what they do.
3)They don't take rejection personally.

Why you should start finding those people right away? Because:

It's going to be very hard to find unregistered users when the money starts to be paid out. So work hard until the release of the Viewbar. Then relax and enjoy:)

Why you should refer people?

If you already joined Agloco (hopefully under my link), then you probably believe in this company or think that you have nothing to lose. Well... Great. But if you have nothing to lose... Then why not to promote it a little bit?

I don't believe you if you say that you haven't 5 minutes a day to explain a friend how Agloco works and why they should join. Think about it. If you refer just one person a day... for a month you have 30 direct referrals.

If each of those referrals... refer even 1 friend... you have 60 people in your network. If those refer the same amount you have 90... next 120... then 150.

But guess what... I have only 10 direct referrals. And 142 extended. So can you imagine if one of your friends turns out to be a great salesman... or have tons of friends?

The average amount of people referred by one person is estimated to be 3. It's on average which means that: For example... Out of five...
One won't refer at all.
Two will refer each 2 people.
One will refer 3 people.
And one will refer 8.
(2+3+10) : 5 = 3

Now let's do some real math.
Referrals go down to 5 levels... Direct plus 4 levels of extended.
You refer one person per month: 1+1+1+... =30
Then your direct referrals refer each 3 people. 30 x 3= 90 Plus you directs: 90 + 30 =120
Then those people refer each 3 people, plus those you already had: 120 x 3 = 360 ...+ 120= 480
Those refer 3 each... plus the ones we already had: 480 x 3 = 1440 ...+ 480 = 1920
And... 1920 x 3 = 5760 ...+ 1920 = 7680

Okay... Of course it depends on your referrals ability to convince people what a great opportunity it is.

But you should hurry: Because who's first... earns first and what's more important... earns the most.

How Members make money?

Members make money in four ways.

1.They earn a monthly share of the company revenue based on the use of the AGLOCO Viewbar™ that month.

Maybe some of you remember AllAdvantage. I unfortunately didn't know about it. The company operated nearly 2 years and in that time it raised nearly $200 million in venture capital (for that time this was much). Over $120 million were paid to members of AllAdvantage.

AllAdvantage was an Internet advertising company that positioned itself as the world’s first "infomediary" by paying its users/members a portion of the advertising revenue generated by their online viewing habits. It became most well known for its slogan "Get Paid to Surf the Web".

Unfortunately many sites have taken the slogan over. Most of those sites scam their users, paying them nothing, wasting their time and spamming their emails. AllAdvantage and AGLOCO both had/have an antispam policy.

AllAdvantage was launched on in March 1999 by Jim Jorgensen, Johannes Pohle, Carl Anderson, and Oliver Brock. During its nearly 2 years of operation, it raised nearly $200 Million in venture capital and grew to more than 10 million members in its first 18 months of operation.

If it had launched today the numbers would be bigger, especially those with $ signs, because the number of internet users has risen and targeted advertising costs much more now.

The company's practice of compensating existing members for referring new members led it to become nearly the most heavily promoted websites of its time. That popularity was reflected in the ranking of AllAdvantage.com among the top 20 of many website traffic indices during most of the company's existence.

No other "payd to surf" site has ever had so many users and been so popular. Which is why they can't sell allmoust any advertisement. AGLOCO is different.

The company also appointed the world's first corporate Chief Privacy Officer, creating the role as a senior level executive responsible for protecting the privacy and security of user data and managing a variety of risks and threats to the integrity of the service.

This shows that AGLOCO viewbar is not only safe, but that it's made by people who introduced words "safety" and "privacy" to the world of internet.

AllAdvantage ultimately fell victim to the sharp decline in advertising spending as the dot-com bubble burst and the U.S. economy entered a recessionary period in mid-2000. But even though the company closed, it had paid out over $120 million to its members.

I have no doubts AGLOCO will pay out over a billion. Why? Selling a site for a billion in those days was impossible. Not long ago Youtube was sold for $1.65 billion and it isn't even used commercially.
